General information

Who is the German test for immigrants aimed at?

The German Test for Immigrants (DTZ) is your final language test for the completed integration course

The language test is standardized and serves to determine your acquired German language skills at level A2 and B1. Your language test will be carried out at our locations on behalf of the company g.a.s.t. By participating in our integration course and taking the final DTZ exam, you will acquire sufficient language skills to cope with everyday life without outside help.

Prerequisite for the DTZ language test:

You must have knowledge of the Latin alphabet
You are at least 16 years old
You have a valid authorization to participate in an integration course
or you have previously completed at least one section of an integration course

Period of validity of the certificate: Unlimited

Structure of the exam

Examination form: Paper-based

Exam parts and duration:

Listen (25 minutes)
Read (45 minutes)
Writing (30 minutes)
Speak (16 minutes, in pairs or groups)

The written examination is conducted without breaks and usually takes place before the oral examination. All parts of the examination are held on the same day. There is no preparation time for the oral examination.

Examination rules

Please note the following examination rules:

	They are only used with a valid identity document admitted to the exam! If the document has expired, even if it is only 1 day, you will not be admitted to the examination
	You must all Hand in bags, jackets and coats! Sweatshirts and cardigans are also prohibited in the examination room. The examination room will be heated, so if you are slightly cold we recommend wearing a sweater
	Your cell phone / Your cell phones must be switched off and delivered become. You will only get it back after the exam!*Smartwatches or other electronic devices must also be handed in before the start of the exam.
	Drinking bottles are permitted in the examination room if you transparent are and about none have labeling
	The following items may take them into the examination room: Identity document Glasses (without case) Drinking bottle as prescribed Medication if required in consultation with the supervisors
	Consequences you follow the instructions of the invigilators, if not you will be excluded from the examination
